Shop Foreman Who We Are North DFW Trailers is a fast-moving trailer dealership in Denton, TX specializing in sales, service, parts, rentals, and high-end custom fabrication work. We run a structured, professional shop with high standards, direct communication, and a team that takes pride in doing things right. The Role We are looking for an experienced, versatile Custom Trailer Fabricator / Welder to join our service team. Working directly under our Shop Foreman, you will handle a wide scope of fabrication work this isn't a repetitive assembly-line job. One day you might be doing structural axle and frame repairs, the next you could be skinning a race trailer or fabricating a custom trailer completely from the ground up. The ideal candidate has an advanced mechanical understanding of trailers that goes well beyond just laying a bead.
What You'll Do Ground-Up & Custom Fabrication:
Read blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to fabricate, square, and build custom trailers from raw steel and aluminum components
Multi-Material Welding:
Execute high-quality structural welds using MIG (solid and flux-core) for steel, and proficient MIG welding on aluminum structures and panels
Structural Repairs & Upfits:
Diagnose, cut out, and repair damaged trailer frames, tongues, crossmembers, and suspensions; perform heavy-duty modifications and accessory installations
Enclosed Cargo & Race Trailer Finish-Out:
Execute precision sheet metal work, exterior aluminum panel replacements (reskinning), and interior workspace modifications without sacrificing clean aesthetics
Complete Trailer Assembly:
Assist with trailer component integration including 12V electrical wiring, axle alignment, brake assemblies, and coupler/jack installations
Shop Efficiency:
Maintain a clean, organized bay, follow safety protocols, and coordinate with the Shop Foreman to keep active jobs on schedule What You Bring 2-3+ years of professional structural fabrication experience, preferably in a dealership, heavy equipment, or trailer manufacturing environment Exceptional MIG welding proficiency on steel (solid/flux-core) and proven ability to cleanly weld aluminum a hands-on weld test will be required Must own your own standard mechanic and fabrication hand tools, air/power tools, and personal safety gear (welding hood, gloves, etc.) the shop provides all welders, torches, plasma cutters, and heavy equipment Strong understanding of trailer geometry, axle placement, 12V wiring, and brake systems High pride in craftsmanship accuracy, structural integrity, and clean cosmetic finishes are non-negotiable Why North DFW Trailers Competitive pay based on your skill and weld test results Work on some of the most diverse and interesting trailer builds in North Texas no two days are the same Structured workplace with clear expectations no guessing games A shop that respects craftsmanship and hard work Apply now we're hiring immediately. 214.850.5950 | DFWTrailers.com |
