As we continue to grow our U.S. operations, we are seeking a Welder for our team member to support a world-class manufacturing environment with capabilities in precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and supply chain management. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to become part of EM Dynamics' expanding U.S. team, drive our growth, and help establish a world-class operation from the ground up.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position involves fabricating welded frames, some manual machine work, and assembling machinery. We are looking for people with a wide range of skills that encompass all things mechanical and electrical. A willingness to learn new skills is crucial. The candidate will work from drawings and sketches to build parts, frames and assemble equipment used in production machinery. The individual will need to be well versed in welding. Welding certification is also a plus. The ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics is a positive.WELDER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders and welding procedure specifications. Layout and produce segments for fabrication using a wide variety of tools and machines. Weld all metal assemblies within provided weld specifications. Inspect all welds to ensure conformance to specifications as well as removal of all spatters. Ensure completeness of documentation of quality and production activities as required. Participate in continuous improvements (safety, productivity and/or quality). Complete and submit work orders at end of shift. Keep work area and machines in a clean and orderly manner. Wear required PPE as required or directed. Work in compliance with company policies, procedures, and OSHA. Perform other duties as required in a flexible, collaborative environment.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years' TIG welding experience in materials aluminum, stainless steel and steel in a production environment. Completion of secondary school or GED equivalent is required. Additional training and certifications are an asset (industry courses, AWS, ASME, CWB etc.). Machine operating experience an asset. Able to read blueprints and procedures. Time management skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and safety standards. Effective interpersonal skills to work in a professional and cooperative environment with coworkers and other staff.SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Reliable and punctual. The plant hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Conscientious with a good eye for detail to monitor quality. Able to work safely in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Flexible in performing other duties as assigned and dictated by work demands. Willing to learn and team player. Able to lift 50 lbs. as necessary. Must have reliable transportation and CSA safety footwear.WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to elements such as noise/temperature/heights and working in awkward positions. Will require some lifting and operation of hand tools. Will frequently be exposed to moving equipment such as forklifts and material handling equipment. May require overtime and weekend work with minimal notice occasionally to meet deadlines.EEO STATEMENT EM
