Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects, fabrication shop tasks, and custom metalwork. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse materials and techniques, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and dimensions. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal components. Operate various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate sheet metal, structural steel, and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment. Measure, cut, bend, assemble, and weld metal parts while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to guide fabrication processes. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following safety procedures at all times. Skills Construction site experience with a solid understanding of site safety protocols. Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints. Strong knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Experience with measuring instruments such as tape measures, and other precision tools. Familiarity with torching, plasma cutting, and bending. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop operations and assembly processes. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in using hand tools for cutting, grinding, fitting, and finishing metal parts. Knowledge of construction site requirements including crane operation support when needed. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and blueprint interpretation. Mechanical fabrication experience with a focus on quality workmanship aligned with industry standards such as AWS guidelines. Strong safety awareness with adherence to all safety protocols during fabrication activities.
