In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, measuring and cutting metal materials, and executing precise welding and fabrication tasks on aluminum components. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality structures and assemblies, ensuring safety and craftsmanship standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring mechanical knowledge, technical skill, and a passion for metal fabrication. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication of aluminum components. Measure, mark, cut, and shape sheet metal and other aluminum materials using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), adhering to AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and shop math to verify dimensions and tolerances. Assemble fabricated parts with mechanical fasteners or welding techniques while maintaining structural integrity and safety compliance. Maintain a clean, organized work environment by adhering to safety protocols and handling metal materials with care during fabrication processes. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or in the shop to ensure timely completion of tasks while following all safety guidelines. Experience Proven construction site experience with metal fabrication projects involving aluminum structures and tanks is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding is essential. Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math skills, and understanding of construction or fabrication shop math. Knowledge of construction processes involving assembly, machining, plasma cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and use of hand tools and power tools. Experience working within AWS standards for welding quality assurance is a plus. Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication techniques, and mechanical fabrication processes is required. Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working in a fast-paced environment; construction experience is advantageous.
