At Hilker Inc, you will play a key role in the fabrication and assembly of structural metal components for a diverse range of projects, including industrial, commercial, and custom constructions. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately measure, cut, shape, and weld metal materials such as steel, aluminum, and other alloys. You will utilize tools such as shears, saws, torches, grinders, and welding equipment to produce quality parts and structures to exacting standards. Daily duties involve laying out, positioning, aligning, and securing metal components using clamps, jigs, and fixtures, followed by assembling, bolting, or welding parts together. You will inspect work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety codes and engineering requirements. Collaboration with engineers, project managers, and other fabrication team members is essential to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery. Attention to detail is critical, as is the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment. The role requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, and familiarity with safety regulations regarding metalworking and welding. Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized workspace and adherence to Hilker Incs safety culture are expected. Ideal candidates possess experience in structural metal fabrication, proficiency in relevant tools and welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick), and a strong understanding of material properties, shop mathematics, and fabrication processes. The ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, troubleshoot fabrication issues, and deliver precise work is highly valued. Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and previous experience with large-scale or custom metal projects is advantageous.
