Shop Welder / Fabricator Trigon Industries Odessa, TX Job Details Full-time $20 - $35 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Measuring tapes TIG welding Forklift Metal fabrication Assembly Mechanical drawings Dimensional measurements Precision measurement in machining Power tools Hand tools Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Trigon Industries is a locally owned and operated CNC machine shop and welding/fabricating shop seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating a variety of different assemblies and parts. This is a full-time position with competitive pay. Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate Miller MIG and Multiprocess welding machines Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to determine dimensions and tolerances Draw parts and keep meticulous notes if needed to insure repeatability and consistency for future repeat orders Select the appropriate tools, materials, and processes for each job Operate welding equipment, grinders, and other shop tools Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, levels, and squares to ensure that parts adhere to customer specifications and and quality expectations. Make adjustments to processes and procedures to ensure quality and accuracy Solve problems relative to work-holding arrangement, tools, and provide creative solutions needed for custom fabrication Perform routine maintenance on machines to keep them in good working condition Clean and grind finished parts and remove welding slag Paint finished parts when the customer requests them to be painted Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures Collaborate with team to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes Required Skills Extensive welding experience with MIG and TIG welding processes preferred Proficient in a broad range of raw materials, and welding practices preferred Proficient in using measuring instruments, power tools, and hand tools Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Ability to draw or create drawings preferred Desire to learn, grow, and adapt. The "Because this is how I've always done it" or the "That is not my job" mentality does not work for us. Familiarity with operating a forklift Love of building things with a mechanical mindset and taking great pride in your work Ability to work independently or as part of a team Strong communication skills If you have the skills and experience we are looking for, we invite you to apply for this position.
