A Day in the LifeAs a Welder you will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. You will interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. You will also inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness. Working individually, you will inspect welding work of others to ensure completeness of work and code compliance. Also flexible to help in various areas of the yard when needed. Be able to read and understand floor plans and work orders for projectsAbility to complete material and labor take offs from blue prints required.
