Job Description
HOLT CAT
is looking for a High School Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Welding Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training. The intern's primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation.Essential Functions:
Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from leadership Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Requires regular and punctual employee attendance Perform maintenance Help install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components Clean and/or lubricate machines Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioning Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components Perform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are met Performs other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn Basic computer skills Good written and verbal communication skills Time management and organizational skills Basic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructionsAdditional Safety Requirements:
Maintain clean, hazard‑free work surfaces before beginning welding tasks. Follow all hot‑work safety protocols, including spark containment and proper fire‑watch procedures. Ensure adequate ventilation or use fume extraction equipment. Keep gas cylinders secured and stored properly. Inspect welding equipment, leads, and PPE prior to use. Report unsafe conditions or damaged equipment immediately. Participate in required safety training and toolbox talks.Education and Experience:
Currently enrolled in a High School Welding or Agriculture Mechanics program. Must be a Junior inHigh School Travel:
