Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sign Fabricator/Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and installing signage according to client specifications and industry standards. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to produce and install high-quality signs that meet our clients' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sign Fabrication:
Fabricate signage components using wood, metal, plastics, and other materials as required. Execute precision metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, grinding, welding, and bending. Perform electrical work including wiring for LED systems and basic power integration. Create, interpret and follow design plans, specifications, and instructions to fabricate various types of signs using materials such as metal, plastic, wood, and vinyl. Operate and maintain fabrication equipment including but not limited to CNC routers, welding machines, lift trucks, and various hand and power tools. Ensure accuracy in measurements, cuts, and assembly to produce signs that meet quality standards and client expectations. Collaborate with the design team to troubleshoot fabrication challenges and suggest improvements for efficiency and quality.
Sign Installation and Maintenance:
Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements, including measurements, surface conditions, and accessibility. Prepare installation materials, tools, and equipment needed for on-site installation. Safely and efficiently install signs using appropriate methods such as mounting, anchoring, and electrical wiring. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of oneself and team members during installations. Provide excellent customer service during installations, addressing client questions or concerns and representing the company in a professional manner. Troubleshoot and repair installed signage including.
Quality Control and Maintenance:
Inspect fabricated signs for quality and functionality, making any necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure they meet standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the fabrication workshop and installation vehicles, including regular maintenance of tools and equipment. Monitor inventory levels of fabrication materials and supplies, reporting any shortages or discrepancies to management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in sign fabrication and installation preferred. Fabrication in other industries will be considered. Proficiency in using fabrication tools and equipment, including CNC machinery, welding equipment, and power tools. Experience operating high lift trucks (Elliot or similar) Must not have a fear of heights Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and materials used in sign manufacturing. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design plans. Knowledge of electrical wiring and installation methods for illuminated signs. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work alone or in groups Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training or certification in sign fabrication, welding, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. Comfort working in confined spaces, at heights, and in outdoor environments. Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed for installations. Ability to work at heights up to 85'
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position, with a standard workweek of 40 hours. Occasional flexibility may be required to accommodate project deadlines or client meetings.
