7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday QPS Employment Group is currently seeking experienced Welders for a direct hire opportunity in Tomball, TX. This role involves cutting, fitting, and welding pipeline products with a high level of precision. Candidates must have strong experience working with valves in the oil and gas industry. Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Read blueprints and take measurements to plan layouts and welding procedures
- Determine appropriate welding equipment and methods based on job requirements
- Set up, align, and fit components according to specifications
- Cut and prepare materials using hand and power tools
- Operate grinders to clean and prep weld surfaces
- Perform welding using manual and semi-automatic equipment
- Inspect welds and finished surfaces for defects (including PT testing)
- Maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
Welder Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience welding valves in the oil and gas industry
- Proven experience with welding methods such as GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and SAW (Submerged Arc Welding)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of different metals and their properties
- Commitment to safety standards and procedures
- Proven track record as a welder in industrial or pipeline environments
- Experience using tools such as saws, calipers, rulers, and squares
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and use of PPE
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
