Please fill out application on our website at https://www.wwafcosteel.com/careers Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding of metal components. Perform welding using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal parts and structures by cutting, shaping, bending, and assembling sheet metal, ductwork, and other metal materials using power tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Measure dimensions accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Use hand tools and power tools safely to assemble components, perform welding repairs, or modify parts as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering strictly to safety protocols and OSHA regulations during all phases of fabrication and welding activities. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or within fabrication shops to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards. Skills Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and interpret ASME codes & standards. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools for accurate fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes, machining operations, ductwork installation, soldering, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and sheet metal fabrication. Familiarity with safety protocols specific to welding shops and construction sites; committed to maintaining a safe working environment at all times. Ability to utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, welding, and assembly tasks. Good understanding of shop math principles necessary for precise measurements and calculations during fabrication projects. Experience working with various metal materials including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and sheet metal components. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for complex fabrication tasks; experience with mechanical blueprint interpretation is a plus.
