In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality metal structures and parts, adhering to safety standards and industry best practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for craftsmanship. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and procedures. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, bending, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, press brake machines, power tools, and machining equipment. Measure materials accurately with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Use hand tools and power tools safely to assemble parts, perform soldering or plasma cutting tasks, and complete mechanical fabrication projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to welding, fabrication shop operations, and site-specific safety procedures. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects involving ductwork, metal structures, or equipment installation requiring mechanical knowledge and interpretation of technical drawings. Skills Extensive experience with construction site fabrication and welding operations in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately for fabrication tasks. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards as well as AWS standards for welding quality assurance. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math, and basic math skills necessary for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes, machining operations, ductwork fabrication, and metal materials handling. Experience operating fabrication shop equipment like press brakes and plasma cutters safely and efficiently. Ability to interpret technical drawings related to sheet metal fabrication and mechanical assembly projects. Understanding of safety protocols specific to welding environments including proper use of hand tools and power tools.
