Job Description

Custom Metal Fabricators, Inc. seeks an experienced and skilled TIG welder / fabricator to complete close tolerance sheet metal weldments and assemblies. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished TIG welder and have prior experience working within a fabrication environment with knowledge of shears, press brakes, drill presses and other miscellaneous metal working equipment. Responsibilities Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions by applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques Develop templates, fixtures and other work aids to hold and align parts Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment Requirements Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings (both US and European formats) Minimum of 5 years TIG welding experience required Minimum of 5 years experience welding close tolerance sheet metal parts and assemblies made from Aluminum, Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for welding, including fluxes and filler metals Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship or vocational school program preferred but not necessary Professional certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) preferred but not necessary
