Job Description
Overview R-Tec Services is seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will help ensure the quality and durability of our projects, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your welding and fabrication skills on diverse construction and manufacturing sites, supporting large-scale projects from start to finish. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications for metal components. Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal parts and assemblies using sheet metal and other metal materials, ensuring precise measurements with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math. Operate power tools such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, grinders, drills, and hand tools safely and efficiently during fabrication processes. Use machining equipment for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal components to meet project specifications. Assemble fabricated parts accurately on-site or in the shop while adhering to safety protocols and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards. Maintain a clean workspace by following safety procedures, inspecting tools regularly, and ensuring proper handling of all welding materials including gases used in gas metal arc welding. Skills Extensive construction site experience with the ability to adapt welding techniques to different environments. Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings. Strong knowledge of welding methods including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes, machining operations, soldering, plasma cutting, and press brake machine operation. Familiarity with safety protocols specific to welding environments including proper handling of power tools and gases. Ability to work with sheet metal fabrication projects like ductwork or other custom metal structures while maintaining quality standards.
