Firewatch Job Description We are seeking skilled trades assistants to collaborate with mechanics and welders on the
USS KENTUCKY
project. The role involves the removal and repair of tanks, requiring proficiency with basic hand tools. Candidates should be capable of lifting 75 lbs and be prepared to stand, stoop, bend, and squat for 8-10 hours daily. Essential personal protective equipment (PPE) includes hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. Hard hats and glasses will be provided. Responsibilities Perform firewatch duties to ensure safety during welding and other hazardous activities. Assist in cleaning up the job site to maintain a tidy and safe work environment. Support other trades such as mechanics, welders, and pipefitters with their tasks. Essential Skills Experience with basic hand tools. Ability to lift 75 lbs. Physical capability to stand, stoop, bend, and squat for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in shipyard labor and firewatch. Be prepared to face various weather conditions, including rain and sun. Occasional long hours may be necessary, with shifts potentially extending to 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Silverdale, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
