Vancouver, WA Pay:
$28-$32/hr (DOE - based on weld test & interview) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter to support the fabrication of large structural boiler and kiln components . This role is hands-on and focused on structural fitting, layout, and MIG welding in a fast-paced fabrication shop. Ideal candidates have strong blueprint reading skills, structural fitting experience, and the ability to work with large assemblies safely and accurately. Key Responsibilities Perform structural fitting on large boiler framework components in a fabrication shop environment Lay out and fit metal components per blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols Conduct MIG welding on aluminum, mild steel, and structural steel to project specifications Support pre-fabrication work , including cutting, drilling, and material preparation Safely operate overhead cranes to move and position large assemblies Verify measurements, alignments, and tolerances to ensure quality fits and welds Follow all work orders, project requirements, and safety procedures Collaborate with welders and fitters to complete large boiler and kiln components efficiently Required Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Welder/Fitter or Fabricator Proven experience with structural layout and fitting Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols Hands-on MIG welding experience (aluminum, mild steel, and structural steel) Strong understanding of fabrication and structural fitting practices Experience using overhead cranes and standard fabrication tools Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial shop environment Preferred Qualifications Experience fabricating large industrial equipment (boilers, kilns, or similar structures) Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed Why Join This Team? The role involves working around heavy steel assemblies , overhead cranes, drilling and cutting equipment, and MIG welding machines. It is a busy industrial setting with established safety practices and procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
