Job Title:
Welder Job Description This role focuses on the fabrication and aluminum welding of components for trailers and tankers, using both MIG and TIG processes. You will cut parts to size, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure high-quality welds that meet production specifications. Responsibilities Perform aluminum welding using both MIG and TIG processes to fabricate parts for trailers and tankers. Cut metal parts to precise size and dimensions according to production requirements. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine welding layouts, measurements, and fabrication details. Use various hand tools to smooth, grind, and finish welds to meet quality and appearance standards. Measure materials accurately using a measuring tape on a daily basis to ensure correct fit and alignment. Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts for accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency in a manufacturing environment. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating welding equipment, cutting tools, and hand tools. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and resolve fabrication issues as they arise. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 months of aluminum welding experience. Proficiency in MIG welding for aluminum fabrication. Proficiency in TIG welding for aluminum fabrication. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for production needs. Ability to fabricate and weld components for trailers and tankers. Skilled in cutting metal parts to size using appropriate tools and equipment. Experience using hand tools to smooth, grind, and finish welds. Competent in daily use of a measuring tape for accurate measurements. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and fabricated parts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team. Willingness to work overtime before shifts and on some Saturdays as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing environment with hands-on fabrication and welding work. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. Overtime may be required before the regular shift and on some Saturdays, depending on production demands. You will work with welding equipment, cutting tools, hand tools, and measuring devices in a shop setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and efficient production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
