Job Title:
Welder 1st shift - $25-$32 Job Description This role involves performing a mix of TIG and MIG welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to produce a wide range of custom and job-shop metal products. You will work from blueprints in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the fabrication of display fixtures, metal enclosures, and other custom metal components. Responsibilities Perform TIG (approximately 60%) and MIG (approximately 40%) welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components. Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications, dimensions, and weld requirements. Set up welding equipment, adjust settings, and select appropriate consumables based on material and project needs. Fabricate, fit, and assemble metal parts according to drawings and work instructions. Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy of cuts, fits, and welds. Work efficiently in a fast-paced job-shop environment where projects and priorities may change. Inspect welds and finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Collaborate with fabrication, painting, and other production teams to complete projects on time. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all shop safety practices. Operate and care for welding and fabrication equipment, reporting any issues or maintenance needs. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in a large, clean shop equipped with updated welding and fabrication equipment, spread across two adjacent buildings. You will work on 1st or 2nd shift in a job-shop environment where projects and parts vary, providing exposure to a wide range of metal products. The culture includes many bilingual Spanish speakers and a strong community-oriented, faith-based atmosphere, with coworkers who share interests such as hunting. The environment is relaxed yet professional, with a focus on teamwork, safety, and quality. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Michael, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
