Job Title:
Welder/Fitter (Night Shift) Job Description Join a dynamic team at a manufacturing company specializing in custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. We are seeking skilled welders and fitters to fabricate skids for electrical control panels, ensuring high-quality construction for power distribution systems. Responsibilities Fabricate metal skids for electrical cabinets and power distribution systems. Read blueprints accurately and take precise measurements. Perform fit-ups of structural steel channels. Conduct Flux Core welding, occasionally utilizing MIG welding, in 2G and 3G positions. Work independently to fit and weld own work pieces. Weld on carbon steel using various techniques including Flux Core Arc Welding. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience in structural welding and fitting. Proficiency in Flux Core welding techniques. Experience with skid fabrication. Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tape effectively. Expertise in 3G welding. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with MIG and 4G welding. Capability in extensive welding and fitting of 11 gauge and 14 gauge sheet metal. Familiarity with stainless steel welding and gas metal arc welding. Why Work Here? Work Environment Located in Houston, Texas, our medium-sized shop is one of four facilities, designed to be clean and organized. Though non-climate controlled, the shop features open bay doors and numerous fans to maintain a comfortable environment. The fast-paced production shop operates adjacent to a machine shop and includes welders, machine operators, fabricators, and quality control. Safety is paramount, with required attire including steel-toed shoes, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses. The night shift runs from Monday to Friday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, typically working 11 hours per day, 5-6 days a week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
