Job Description

Job Title:
Shift Welder Job Description This role focuses on welding and repairing large rotors using MIG and TIG processes while interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the appropriate welding approach. You will work from pre-established guidelines and routings, follow all safety procedures, and contribute to high-quality rotor repair and finishing work in a structured production environment. Responsibilities Weld and repair various large rotors using appropriate welding processes based on job requirements. Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the correct welding method and sequence. Follow pre-established guidelines and routings to perform all job functions accurately and efficiently. Use grinders to finish and smooth weld repairs on rotors to meet quality standards. Comply with all safety procedures, guidelines, and company policies while performing welding and grinding tasks. Assist with field work at customer locations when travel is required. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and maintenance needs. Work independently and unsupervised after completing training, maintaining a high level of quality and productivity. Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and continuously improve welding and fabrication skills. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Welding and/or fabrication experience of 1-3 years or current enrollment in a welding program. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Mastery of basic math skills to support measurements and layout work. Hands-on experience with MIG welding. Hands-on experience with TIG welding. Ability to work from pre-established guidelines and routings to complete tasks. Ability to grind and finish welds on large rotors after repair. Capability to work unsupervised after training is complete. High level of motivation and a strong willingness to learn. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience welding or repairing large industrial components such as rotors. Experience using grinders and finishing tools in a production or repair environment. Flexibility to travel occasionally to customer locations to assist with field work. Comfort working from technical documentation such as diagrams and schematics. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and finishes. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates on a first-shift schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The shift may run Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, and assignments are made based on operational needs. You will work in an industrial setting focused on welding, grinding, and finishing large rotors using MIG and TIG welding equipment, grinders, and related tools. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and consistent production quality, with structured training to prepare you to work independently on assigned tasks.
