NSC Staffing Send resumes to: NSCGreenBay@nscstaffing.com NSC Staffing is seeking experienced Welders and Shipfitters to join our team in the Sturgeon Bay, WI area. If you have 2-10 years of experience in shipfitting and welding and are ready to take on exciting projects, we want to hear from you! Position Overview As a Welder / Shipfitter , you will perform structural steel and aluminum work on various marine vessels, including U.S. Naval ships, Military Sealift Command, and commercial vessels. This role involves welding, fitting, and fabrication tasks to support ship repair and modernization projects. Key Responsibilities Perform welding and shipfitting tasks on marine vessels and in shop environments. Pass required weld tests (Stick and Flux Core) and work on pipes and structural components. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and Navy/MSC/ABS standards. Fabricate templates, square plates, and install structures according to specifications. Write Condition Found Reports (CFR) detailing material condition and recommended actions. Safely operate welding equipment, oxy-acetylene torch, hand tools, and power tools. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and wear required PPE. Qualifications 2-10 years of experience in welding and shipfitting. Proficiency in
SMAW , FCAW
, and GMAW welding techniques; ability to certify in GTAW and silver brazing preferred. Strong understanding of ship repair terminology and compartment nomenclature. Ability to interpret structural drawings, weld symbols, and Navy damage control diagrams. Physical capability to wear PPE and work in shipyard environments.
