Job Description

This is a 2nd shift role! Candidates need to be able to work the shift hours of 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Monday - Friday with Overtime as needed, including Saturdays About us Headquartered in Waukesha WI, Superior Crane Corporation is a family owned, manufacturer and supplier of material handling equipment including singular components such as hoists and parts, to complete crane systems of small and large capacities. Our hard-working team manufactures overhead cranes, hoists, monorail systems and more. We are seeking experienced Welders/Fabricators to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints and drawings, cutting and welding metal components, and fitting metal parts together. This position requires a high level of skill and precision, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabricating, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications. Fit up and weld according to prints and specifications. Set up and operate welding equipment to weld various types of metals. Maintain and repair welding equipment. Perform cutting, grinding, and finishing operations on metal parts. Inspect welds for accuracy and quality. Maintain a clean and safe work environment Maintain production quantities, efficiencies and quality on parts welded
Work Experience/Requirements :
Three to five years of heavy steel plate (3/8" or above) and structural Flux-Core welding experience is preferred. Able to weld in position, overhead and vertical ups. Knowledge of welding machine settings, wire feeds, other welding equipment and shielding gas requirements. Able to read blueprints and welding symbols. Able to read tape measure. Have the knowledge required to measure welds with weld gauges. Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA safety rules and regulations. Will be required to take and pass a internal welding test. Must have welding tools in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Able to climb ladders and work above ground (not afraid of heights). Work on knees. Work with arms overhead. Able to work while laying on back. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Able to stand for four hours at a time. Able to work in small spaces depending on assigned job task. Functional understanding & use of the following equipment is required for this position: Welders - able to adjust for proper amps and voltage Must have the ability to operate a Fork Truck Must have the ability to operate an overhead crane Must be able to rig steel and other equipment. Certifications Desired:
High school diploma or GED Welding certification is desired but not required.
