Job Description

Skipjack Cove Marina is seeking a dependable, hardworking Boatyard Associate to support daily boatyard operations in a fast-paced marine environment. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in physical work, values safety, and can shift between customer support, yard maintenance, and equipment operation as needed. The Boatyard Associate plays an important role in keeping marina and yard operations running smoothly. This position supports vessel hauling and launching, boat handling, general boatyard upkeep, and a wide range of operational needs. The right candidate is safety-minded, mechanically inclined, team-oriented, and comfortable working outdoors in changing conditions. Key Responsibilities Assist with hauling, launching, moving, and storing boats safely and efficiently Support boatyard functions including blocking, cleaning, washing, buffing, scraping, and general vessel care Operate equipment such as forklifts, travel lifts, payloaders, and other yard machinery when qualified Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe boatyard and marina environment Communicate effectively with boat owners, coworkers, and marina leadership regarding timelines, work needs, and yard activity Assist with facility upkeep, grounds maintenance, and general repair support as needed Follow established safety procedures and operational standards in all aspects of the job Qualifications Prior experience in a boatyard, marina, or marine service environment preferred Experience operating a travel lift and forklift preferred Opportunities to learn and receviing training on all marina equipment Equipment operation experience such as forklift, payloader, roll-off, or similar machinery preferred Facility maintenance, landscaping, or general labor experience is a plus Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge is a plus Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions Why This Role Matters This position is critical to the day-to-day success of the marina.
