Marina Dock Hand

The Dock Hand position performs many key functions within our marina operations. This position will lead a team through the summer to perform the daily task of operating a marina in Northern Michigan. This position requires someone that enjoys the marine and boating environment, has a positive attitude and great work ethic, and gets along well with others. It is a fun, fast-paced environment!

Core Responsibilities Daily Operations:

▪ Supports the owner and key staff in daily marina operations including gas dock, facility management including marina dock, opening/closing, customer satisfaction, facility cleaning, organization, and vendor coordination.

Customer Relations:

▪ Assisting marina and rental customers as needed, providing high quality customer service with attention to detail, resolving customer requests/issues, prioritizing and scheduling as needed. Requirements It is very important to us that we get the best person for the job and so there is some flexibility for the right candidate depending on their circumstance, needs, and desires. Candidate Qualities:

High attention to detail and follow through, self-motivated and a self-starter, positive attitude, good communication skills and organization, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, great customer service skills, basic computer skills and enjoys being and working outside. This is an active and at times physically demanding job with lots of variety. ▪ Boating experience and knowledge is a huge plus ▪ Basic computer skills ▪ Comfortable in and around water General Season/Schedule Overview ▪ Our season is approximately April through November but may extend and vary based on weather and needs. ▪ May through mid-June we are busy preparing our customers to arrive for the summer, as well as setting up for the boating season. ▪ Mid to late June through late August the rental season is extremely busy. ▪ Early September through October the rental season slows down.

Pay:

$15.00 - $25.00 per hour
