Job Description

Job Overview Four Winds Marina, located at the beautiful northern end of Pine Island, is seeking an Experienced Marina Forklift Operator. We are a well-established marina offering the right candidate a spectacular setting and great working environment.
If You Do Not Have Marina Forklift Experience Do Not Apply Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prior Marine Forklift Experience is required. Experience operating a Marine Forklift in a marina environment. Operate 25,000 lb. marine lift to launch and store boats up to 35 ft. in length. Safely dock and assist with incoming or departing boats. Ensure boats are properly secured and protected from dock damage. Wash, flush, and inspect boats as required. Monitor forklift daily repairs and maintenance as required. Accurately fill out forklift operations documents. Keep all dock lines, fenders and other dock equipment well maintained. Assist in the opening and closing of the storage areas. Inspect machinery, perform regular maintenance (e.g., recharging batteries and lubricating equipment) and determine repair needs (will train). Keep updated records of boat moves and activity logs. Comply with company policies and legal guidelines. Always follow safety guidelines and protocols.
Experience & Skills:
OSHA Forklift Operator Certification required. Familiarity with OSHA standards for safe handling and operation of forklifts. Experience with heavy equipment operation is beneficial. Excellent physical condition and able to perform tasks that require good hand-eye-foot coordination and sense of balance. Familiar with connection of utility services (power, water). Ability to assess weights, distance, and height. Ability to work safely around water and docks. Must be able to swim. Reliable transportation and smartphone required. Ability to maintain composure under pressure. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Adhere to standard operating procedures and policies. Must keep regular and reliable attendance. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Must be at least 25 years of age. Must pass background check. Boat operation test will be administered. High school diploma. Must have current FWC Boating Safety Education Identification Card.
Work Conditions:
Reports to the General Manager, Marina Manager and Boat Storage Manager. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, use hands; talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance; stoop, kneel, occasionally sit. Regularly lift or move up to 30 pounds (or more with assistance). Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level. Handle physical demands of working outside in hot and humid conditions. This job description is not all inclusive. Additional responsibilities will be determined by the General Manager, as dictated by marina needs.
