Job Summary As a Marine Diesel Mechanic, you'll be part of a skilled team that keeps high-performance vessels running at their best. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of marine diesel engines and mechanical equipment onboard our vessels. Responsibilities Diagnostics:
Use OEM software, tools, and technologies to maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete repairs.Repairs:
Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.Product Lines:
Must be comfortable working on all boat systems; Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.Safety Compliance:
Performing all work to safety standards and guidelines.Other:
All duties as assigned.Requirements Experience:
Minimum one (1) year of experience in marine mechanics or related fields.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.Certifications:
ABYC certification (preferred). Must hold a valid driver's license.Pre-Employment:
All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment. Qualifications Proficiency with diagnostic software, hand and power tools. Experience installing marine mechanical systems. Knowledge of onboard plumbing systems, hydraulic system installations, troubleshooting, and repairs. Ability to write condition reports, prepare estimates, and plan projects. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Completion of a diesel mechanic training program is preferred.
