Advertising Manager / Marketing Representative The River Register - Mason City, Iowa Position Overview The River Register is seeking a motivated, outgoing Advertising Manager / Marketing Representative to help grow advertising revenue and build strong relationships with businesses throughout Mason City, Clear Lake, Nora Springs, Rockford, Rudd, and the surrounding North Iowa area. This position is centered on sales, relationship-building, and community involvement. You'll work directly with local businesses to develop advertising and marketing solutions that help them reach customers through our print and digital platforms. We are willing to train the right person. Sales, advertising, or marketing experience is preferred, but drive, communication skills, and the ability to build relationships are even more important. Responsibilities Sell print advertising in The River Register Sell digital advertising, including website advertising, e-edition placements, social media opportunities, sponsored content, and other digital products Develop new advertising accounts throughout Mason City, Clear Lake, Nora Springs, Rockford, Rudd, and surrounding communities Maintain and grow relationships with existing advertisers Meet with business owners and decision-makers to learn about their businesses and marketing goals Develop advertising packages and campaigns that fit individual client needs Follow up consistently with prospects and existing customers Work with our design and production team to ensure advertisements are completed accurately and on time Help develop special sections, promotions, sponsorships, and new revenue opportunities Represent The River Register professionally at community and business events Maintain an organized pipeline of leads, prospects, and current customers Actively seek new business and identify opportunities to grow advertising revenue What We're Looking For We want someone who is: Personable and comfortable talking with business owners Self-motivated and able to work independently Driven to develop new business Persistent without being pushy Organized and dependable Comfortable making phone calls, sending emails, and meeting clients in person Interested in becoming involved in Mason City and the surrounding North Iowa communities Excited about sales and earning commission Comfortable learning print, digital, social media, and other advertising products Someone who enjoys building long-term relationships with local businesses Previous sales, advertising, media, or marketing experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate.
