Social Media Coordinator:

Responsibilities:

Write original copy for social media posts. This includes copy for day-to-day posts, breaking news as well as for more long-term projects. Assist the marketing and advertising teams with social media copy as needed. Scour social media each day for story ideas and trends with an eye toward creating fresh, social media content. Maintain familiarity with user interfaces and general trends on each major social media platform. Develop a deep understanding of our audiences across various platforms and how to engage them. Exercise excellent news judgment. Help strengthen our growing brand awareness.

Minimum Qualifications:

1-2 years experience managing social media accounts with a demonstrable track record for success in growing a loyal audience Ability to meet deadlines and to prioritize among short-term and long-term projects 2-3 years experience working for media outlets Practical experience with Google Analytics, Apple News, and/or similar tools as well as programs such as Adobe Premier, InDesign and Photoshop Basic familiarity with HTML, Excel/Google Sheets and Google Data Studio Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Expert knowledge of social media trends and best practices Ability to fact-check and quickly assess fast-moving social media commentary Experience with selecting key performance metrics for websites, newsletters and social media Strong writing and reporting skills in AP style with emphasis on clarity and attention to detail This is not a remote position. The Press is located in Downtown Brentwood in Northern California.
