GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Communication Manager supports all Program Staff, Congregational Membership and CLC Ministry Leaders. In their role, they develop content communicated through the CLC Office Team making use of various platforms. This position creates most of the digital communication that both members of CLC and the public encounter. This position reports to the CLC Lead Pastor.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages Church Communications:
Creates, develops and distributes communications. Develops the weekly worship slides that are used in the sanctuary during worship Prepare, post and manage social media content with the Director of Student Ministry Prepare web content and assist the Tech Coordinator with proper posting Be fully trained and competent with the database program
KEY COMPETENCIES
Excellent Communications Skills Computer Knowledge and Experience Creative Design sense for creating attractive and effective digital content Ability to maintain confidentiality with people's sensitive information Task List Weekly, prepare folders for tech team (Sound, Projection and Video) with orders of worship, bulletins and print outs of visual cues needed during worship (8 and 9:30 am) Weekly, Enter information (lyrics to be sung, liturgical information, Bible readings and announcements) into the laptop for Sunday worship (2 services) making note of Settings (for 8 am) and including extra slides for special events happening during worship. Weekly, Produce Power point slide shows for both Pre-Worship Slides and Mid Service Announcements. Help Lead pastor produce Sermon Slides. Convert slides to jpeg images and rename each for use during worship. This is current practice, may change. Weekly, Produce information to be shown on foyer monitors -Mission Statement and Congregational Information, with Youth Monitor from information received from Noel. Weekly, Produce Thursday "Eblast" mailing using information from previous meetings or staff/congregational requests. Monthly, receive from the author, the text for the weekly Call to Prayer Monday eblasts, then schedule them to be delivered for Monday mornings at 6 am. Monthly, Receive from Lead Pastor the "First of the month Letter", and schedule it to be received at 8 am on the first of the month. Produce hard copies of First of the month letter for those without email by the Sunday after the first of the month, post on "Information" slat board in foyer. Weekly, prepare large print gospel reading on lectern for lector. Weekly, create, prepare, and post content to both social media and the web site as needed in communication with the rest of the staff and key volunteers. All other duties as assigned.
