Job Description

Position Overview The Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB) is seeking an energetic, relationship‑driven professional to join our growing Community Engagement team. Serving twenty counties with two locations in Chattanooga and one in Dalton, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank's mission is to lead a network of partners and unite the community to eliminate hunger by feeding, nourishing, and empowering those we serve. The Northwest Georgia Community Engagement Manager is responsible for cultivating the Food Bank's presence, support, relationships, and community connections throughout our Northwest Georgia service area. This role serves as a visible ambassador and fundraiser for the organization, engaging individuals, families, donors, volunteers, and community partners through events, food and fund drives, stewardship, and local outreach. The Manager ensures the Food Bank is well‑represented, trusted, and actively connected across the region.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Community Presence & Representation (Northwest Georgia) Serve as a primary representative of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank throughout Northwest Georgia. Actively engage, build support, and foster meaningful relationships in community meetings and events, such as Chambers of Commerce meetings and civic organizations. Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and supporters to increase visibility, trust, and engagement. Represent the Food Bank professionally and consistently in alignment with mission, brand, and messaging. Events (Northwest Georgia) Plan, coordinate, and execute excellent community‑based events in Northwest Georgia, including donor, volunteer, and community engagement events. Support the execution of Food Bank‑wide engagement events within the region as appropriate. Ensure events are well‑organized, mission‑centered, and provide meaningful experiences for attendees while offering "unreasonable hospitality." Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement to align regional events with organizational goals and standards. Food & Fund Drives (Northwest Georgia) Lead and manage food and fund drives throughout Northwest Georgia, including outreach, coordination, tracking, and stewardship. Support community partners, schools, businesses, and organizations hosting food and fund drives. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely acknowledgment and reporting of food and fund drive outcomes. Donor & Community Development Engage with donors and potential donors in all stages of development - identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship. Steward volunteers, community supporters, and assigned donors in Northwest Georgia through consistent, relationship‑based engagement. Ensure timely and thoughtful follow‑up, gratitude, and recognition for community involvement and giving. Document key interactions, relationships, and engagement activity in NXT. Collaborate with Development staff to support donor relationships and identify opportunities for deeper engagement. Collaboration & Internal Coordination Work closely with the Director of Community Engagement, Volunteer Manager, Events Manager, Donor Services, Operations and Development staff to ensure alignment and coordination. Communicate regularly with internal teams regarding regional activities, opportunities, and outcomes. Support consistency in messaging, branding, and community experience across all Northwest Georgia engagement efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two years of experience in community engagement, nonprofit outreach, events, fundraising support, or related fields. Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Comfortable representing an organization publicly and building community presence. Commitment to the mission of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and community‑centered work. Ability to work independently and autonomously, while maintaining personal accountability and team communication. Physical Requirements Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job (occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs). Frequent sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, stooping, bending, and phone use. Other Duties Other responsibilities as assigned. This position requires frequent work outside of standard business hours , including evenings and weekends, and is an in‑office position based in our Dalton warehouse (1111 S. Hamilton St.), with regular travel throughout the region.

Pay:
$52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
