Community Engagement Coordinator Report To:
Chief Development Officer Description:
The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting outreach efforts and increasing community awareness of the organization's work. This role works under the direction of the Chief Development Officer and is responsible for tracking engagement, reviewing campaign performance, and assessing overall effectiveness of special events and volunteer projects. Responsibilities include; coordinating volunteer efforts by recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers and assisting with community events. The Community Engagement Coordinator communicates the organization's mission and services to the public, in a clear and consistent way. Additionally, the Community Engagement Coordinator supports the planning and execution of fundraising events, organizing volunteers, and assisting with donation efforts.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma/GED and 3-4 years' experience with event coordination and experience working with volunteers, in the non-profit field preferred. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, comfortable with public speaking. Valid Driver's License Required, with a clean driving record, must have experience in Microsoft Suite and preference given to experience in other volunteer software systems.
Experience:
The individual must be knowledgeable of best practices in volunteer recruitment and marketing; experienced in cold calling, comfortable building relationships with unknown individuals and speaking publicly. The individual must be organized, possess interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work independently, a true self-starter. Individual must be capable of preserving confidentiality of volunteer and participant records. Individuals must have a results-oriented background and the ability to think strategically. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Humility Homes and Services, Inc. Responsibilities:
1. Commitment to Ethical and Effective Services Know and implement HHSI's mission, policies, and procedures; and abide by all city, state, and federal laws, and regulations. Maintain training in suicide risk assessment, mandatory child and dependent adult abuse and neglect reporting, crisis intervention, civil rights, housing discrimination, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and housing first practices. Should work to foster strong professional relationships both internally and externally. Adhere to HHSI's agency values in all aspects of work. 2. Volunteer Relationship Cultivation Ensure the volunteer recruitment plan encompasses all volunteer needs of the agency. Work with the Chief Development Officer to ensure there are SMART goals related to the agency's strategic plan as the recruitment plan is based on strategic needs. Develop methodology for reporting updates to Leadership team and Board of Directors. Host and attend recruiting events within the community from an Advocacy and Education lens to attract qualified volunteers and to spread the mission of the agency. Develop, maintain, and monitor relationships with other volunteer organizations in the community. Strategically target corporations, smaller-scale businesses, religious entities, and civic/fraternal organizations to build connections and create project-based marketing for volunteer and donor engagement from these groups. Communicate with agency staff about volunteers coming into the agency and working to ensure project needs are met. Provide ongoing support to volunteers, including ensuring any grievances are handled appropriately and promoting cooperation among staff and volunteers. Track volunteer hours monthly ensuring these hours get communicated to the grants department and executive team. Plan volunteer specific appreciation events including creation of marketing materials and communicating this to the Chief Development Officer. 3. Event Coordination Design and implement agency events as assigned by the Chief Development Officer. Work with the Development and Marketing Committee on these events as needed. Responsible for helping plan, implement and follow up on two fundraising events in the direction of the Chief Development Officer. Help promote smaller scale volunteer-driven fundraising events including creation of marketing materials for the event and creation of promotion of events. Collaborate with area agencies for in-kind donations. Assist in obtaining needed donations or vendors for events such as items for a silent auction and/or raffle basket. Help coordinate volunteer assistance in planning events and staffing events on the day of. Help create marketing items as requested and assist in the distribution of event promotions. Work with the Chief Development Officer to ensure the event budget is followed and needed goals are communicated. 4. Documentation and other duties Be the point of contact and complete paperwork for organizational relationships such as AARP, or other organizations placing volunteers. Work with the Fresh Start Thrift Store and Corner Closet Coordinators to ensure volunteer needs are met. Keep and maintain a digital library of assets related to volunteers and events. Respond to project requests in a timely manner and provide updates for campaigns Utilize computer programs such as Paycom, Microsoft, Adobe Suite, Bloomerang, Mailchimp, Canva and other video producing/editing software. Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
Full-Time . 36 hours a week, general office hours would be 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday ; however, must be available weekends and after-hour events as needed.
Salary:
Based on qualifications. Travel expenses and some benefits are included.
