Job Description

About The Democratic Party of Illinois (DPI) is hiring an innovative and results-driven Distributed Organizing Director for the 2026 Coordinated Campaign. This is a historic election cycle, with the Governorship, U.S. Senate, and 17 Congressional seats at stake, along with the State Senate, State House, and critical county and local-level races across the state. DPI is building a first-of-its-kind coordinated effort to meet this challenge and win competitive races up and down the ballot. The Distributed Organizing Director will develop and lead the statewide distributed voter contact program, and must be an expert in predictive dialer campaigns, peer-to-peer messaging, and relational organizing. This is a full-time, in-person position located in Chicago, Illinois. Key Responsibilities Recruit, lead, and motivate a large statewide volunteer team to conduct direct voter contact and volunteer recruitment in a fast-paced, high-pressure campaign environment Build and manage distributed organizing teams, including hiring, supervising, and coaching staff, and leading distributed and relational training for staff and volunteers Independently write and develop branching phone and peer-to-peer messaging scripts for voter contact campaigns, and create content and messaging for relational app users Design and implement systems and structures to drive distributed and relational organizing performance and set, track, and exceed metric goals and benchmarks Collaborate closely with other departments to align strategy and build effective support structures for organizing, impact, and voter protection teams Cultivate and maintain relationships with candidates, partners, and political stakeholders Develop and execute an integrated distributed and relational organizing strategy and Get Out the Vote operation, including distributed ballot chase and relational GOTV programs Required Qualifications At least 2 cycles of distributed organizing experience, with at least one as a manager Fluency in VAN, Scale to Win, Reach, and other distributed organizing tools and platforms Proven success leading large-scale distributed and relational organizing programs Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated capacity to synthesize, track, and report data Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture The salary for this position is $7,000 per month. The position concludes on November 15, 2026, with the opportunity for continued growth after the election cycle. This role requires working long and irregular campaign hours, including nights and weekends. The position includes a full benefits package, with health, vision, and dental insurance.
