Job Description
Glenview Public Library is seeking an energetic, curious, and community-minded leader to serve as our Adult Community Engagement Assistant Manager. This position is ideal for someone who is inspired by the question, "What does our community need next, and how can the library help make it happen?" If you are passionate about leading people, building community relationships, and creating meaningful experiences for adults, we'd love to meet you. The Adult Community Engagement Assistant Manager works closely with the Adult Community Engagement Manager to lead a talented team responsible for creating engaging adult programs, building meaningful community partnerships, connecting patrons with library services both inside and outside the building, and expanding business services that support local entrepreneurs, professionals, job seekers, and the broader Glenview business community. This is a collaborative leadership position that provides day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support for the Adult Community Engagement part-time staff. The Assistant Manager helps guide programming, outreach, business services, and community partnerships that reflect the Library's strategic goals and the evolving needs of the Glenview community. In addition to supervising staff and overseeing the department and programming schedules, the Assistant Manager provides reference and readers' advisory services, works closely with community organizations, and collaborates with colleagues throughout the Library to deliver exceptional programs and services. The position includes a regular Thursday evening schedule, rotating weekend hours, and the flexibility to participate in community events and outreach opportunities. The pay range for this position is $63,000 to $65,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, IMRF pension program, paid time off, as well as other related benefits. Education/Experience/Qualifications Master of Library and Information Science degree from an ALA accredited school Minimum two years professional library experience One to two years supervisory experience preferred
