Our mission as Louisiana State Police Regional Communication Officers is to foster safety, efficiency, and unity by providing exceptional communication and support services to law enforcement agencies, communities, and the citizens of the State of Louisiana. Communication Officers are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and compassion in our work. We are looking for a Communications Officer Supervisor to join our Communications Unit - a leader who guides, motivates, and manages a team to support our mission. A Communications Officer Supervisor plays a key role in training Communications Officers 1-3s and ensuring efficient coordination and response to calls for service in a high-pressure environment.

Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience in transmitting and receiving messages by radio: Three years of experience in transmitting and receiving messages by radio or in administrative services; OR One year of training in a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute plus two years of experience in transmitting and receiving messages by radio or in administrative services; OR Thirty semester hours of college training plus two years of experience in transmitting and receiving messages by radio or in administrative services.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All persons appointed to this job will be required by the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Louisiana State Police Terminal Operator Certification Program Guidelines to meet the terminal operator certification/re-certification requirement within six months of employment. An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted. Job Duties:
As a Communications Officer Supervisor, you will be instrumental in assigning, training, supervising, and evaluating Communications Officers and their work. In this role, you will: Maintain all standards set by the Louisiana State Police and the Department of Public Safety Supervise, coordinate, and control the activities of Communications personnel during assigned shifts Train and supervise new employees Operate a workstation comprised of multiple computer systems, Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software, and Geographical Information (GIS), state and federal clearinghouses, call handling, as well as communications systems, such as radio dispatch consoles and recording systems Supervise and participate in receiving law enforcement information by telephone, teletype, two-way radio, and transmitting messages to the appropriate personnel

Compensation:
