Internship Summary:
Come join Sweetser's team! The Community Relations & Outreach Intern will help connect Maine communities with Sweetser's mental health and recovery resources. The intern will coordinate outreach logistics, represent Sweetser at community events, and organize resource distribution across Sweetser locations, community partners, and events. As a member of the Public Relations team, the intern will collaborate across departments and gain hands-on experience in community engagement, event planning, and partnership outreach. The role combines office-based preparation with community activities and may include regular reimbursed travel and occasional evening or weekend events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with the creation, editing, and distribution of print and digital communications promoting Sweetser programs, services, resources, and events. Support the development of flyers, brochures, newsletters, social media content, presentations, and other communications materials. Support community outreach and engagement efforts, including preparation for community events, outreach activities, and organizational initiatives. Support the Public Relations team with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
