Are you passionate about empowering youth and creating real change in your community? The Youth Connection is looking for a Community Organizer to help lead youth-driven initiatives focused on leadership development, substance use prevention, and community change in Metro Detroit. This is more than a job — it's an opportunity to mentor youth, build powerful community partnerships, and grow your career in nonprofit leadership.
What You'll Do:
Build and support youth leadership groups in Metro Detroit. Organize and mobilize youth and adults around community initiatives. Develop relationships with schools, parents, and community partners. Support college campus outreach and organizing efforts. Help plan and execute community campaigns and events. Facilitate workshops, trainings, and youth engagement activities. Assist with program evaluation and data tracking.
What You Bring:
Required:
Bachelor's degree. 1+ year experience in community work, youth programs, or organizing. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
Preferred:
Experience with youth development, community organizing, or prevention programs. Passion for working with youth and underserved communities. Comfortable facilitating groups, workshops, or trainings. Work Environment:
