Pay Schedule Month Number of Hrs./Wk. 40 Position Information Position Information Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in higher education and community-engaged work. Experience securing and administering external funding, including competitive grants and philanthropic funds. Familiarity with the Carnegie Elective Classification in Community Engagement. Experience working in university settings with faculty on community-engaged research. Knowledge of and experience working in the communities of Southeast Michigan. Desired Qualifications Masters degree in a related field. Ten (10) years experience in higher education administration. All Qualifications Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered. Position Details Position Purpose The Community Engagement Research Officer will serve as director of the Community Engaged Research Center and function as the main recruiter of faculty who are interested in elevating or beginning their community engagement work. Serve as a liaison between campus (faculty, staff and students) and community partners to increase the number of community-engaged projects undertaken at OU. Cultivate and develop relationships with community partners. Oversee the data collection around community engagement work at OU to support future application for renewal of the Carnegie Elective Classification in Community Engagement and other reporting requirements. Support for The Pledge through experiential learning opportunities for students becoming involved in research projects that address or solve real-world problems. Generate new revenue through grants and contract work and facilitate more faculty publications that can help OU attain R1 status.
