Business Unit Minot State University Location Minot Posted 05/29/2026 Full/Part Time Full-Time Department Multicultural Support Services Close Date Open Until Filled Add to My Favorite Jobs Email this Job Position Description & Details Position Summary The Coordinator of Native American Center & Cultural Programs provides leadership, coordination, and support for initiatives that foster Native American student success, cultural engagement, and community partnerships. This position oversees the daily operations of the Native American Center, develops and implements culturally relevant programming, and strengthens relationships with Tribal communities, schools, and colleges across the region. This is a full-time, benefited position with an 11-month contract. Key Responsibilities 1. Native American Center Operations & Student Support Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Native American Center, ensuring it is a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive space for students. Provide direct support, mentorship, and referrals to Native American students to promote retention, engagement, and academic success. Collaborate with campus partners to address student needs and enhance the student experience. 2. Cultural Programming & Events Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual Spring Powwow, serving as a signature cultural event for the university and the surrounding community. Develop and implement additional programs and events that celebrate Native American culture, heritage, and contemporary life. Partner with student organizations and campus departments to promote cultural awareness and inclusion. 3. Community Engagement & Outreach Serve as a liaison between the university and regional Tribal communities, including Tribal Colleges and area high schools. Assist the university in communication and the development of responsive programming on Indian reservations. Coordinate and host group visits and events on campus for prospective students and community partners. Conduct outreach activities that support recruitment, access, and relationship-building with Native communities. 4. Collaboration & Institutional Support Work collaboratively with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Athletics, and Academic Affairs to support institutional priorities. Contribute to university-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Represent the Native American Center on committees and at community events as appropriate. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, student affairs, social work, Native American studies, or a related field. Experience working with Native American communities and/or students. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement programs or events. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related field. Experience in higher education, student support services, or community outreach. Knowledge of Tribal communities in the region and issues impacting Native American students. Experience coordinating large-scale cultural events.
