SCOPE OF POSITION
The Community Relations Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community while serving as the primary point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and prospective residents. This position supports the Executive Director and Director of Resident Care through administrative coordination, resident and family communication, admissions support, and community engagement while helping ensure a welcoming and positive experience for all who interact with the community.

The Community Relations Specialist plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the community through a combination of administrative, customer service, admissions, and resident support responsibilities. This position greets residents, families, visitors, and prospective residents, coordinates tours and move-ins, maintains resident and prospective resident records, and provides administrative support to the Executive Director and Director of Resident Care. Responsibilities also include responding to non-clinical resident and family concerns, coordinating office operations, assisting with resident activities and outside appointments, maintaining organized records, and collaborating with other departments to support residents and enhance their overall experience. The Community Relations Specialist also assists with general office functions, supports community initiatives, and provides backup support to other non-clinical departments as needed. Requires the ability to work at the office from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday with occasional variation of scheduled hours during peak times or at the request of the Executive Director. Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; and High School Diploma/GED; and Two (2) to three (3) years of related experience; or An equivalent combination of education, work and experience will be considered. CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) certification helpful. Equal Employment Opportunity Mandatory post offer physical and drug testing for new hire. Criminal records check required.
