Job Description
Community Engagement Specialist
Description CDTA is seeking a strategic and service-driven Community Engagement Specialist to build stronger connections between CDTA and the communities it serves by creating strategic partnerships, expanding mobility education, improving transportation accessibility, promoting customer independence, and expanding overall outreach with regional stakeholders including but not limited to businesses, service organizations, educational partners and the public at large. The goal is to increase public trust and awareness in CDTA services through meaningful community engagement. Duties and Responsibilities Provide transit training services to various customer groups focused on trip planning and timing, reading and understanding route maps and schedules, how to pay the fare, bus riding etiquette and overall safety related to safe travel
Promote CDTA services and strengthen community awareness through education and informational sessions
Serve as a public representative of CDTA at community events, festivals, conferences, employee health and benefits fairs and educational workshops
Have a comprehensive understanding of CDTA's fixed route network, utilization of the Navigator app and deep knowledge of ancillary mobility services including but not limited to bikeshare, car sharing and microtransit
Have knowledge of and understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements to ensure customer groups have equitable access to CDTA services
Attend regional orientation programs for Universal Access partners and other stakeholders for which CDTA partners with or provides transportation services
Assist with half-fare ID card and account creation where appropriate Present public informational sessions focused on the specific transit needs of the requested organization, municipality or other stakeholder group
Assist the Business Development department in conducting outreach to attract new ridership with businesses and community organizations Qualifications High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
Basic computer skills, telephone communication skills, mobile phone application skills and customer service experience.
Extensive knowledge of CDTA fixed routes and mobility services, CDTA website, and Navigator app. Working Conditions Heavy lifting, walking long distances, standing for extended periods, local travel within 6 counties.
Evenings and weekends are required as needed (calendar dependent) Compensation
Grade 612 ($49,003- $56,353) Benefits
