Job Description

Position Summary The Director of Community Impact & Prevention leads countywide efforts to strengthen mental health, substance use prevention, and overall community wellbeing. This role stewards a cross‑sector coalition, cultivates resources that advance community priorities, manages strategic communications, and provides guidance on emerging needs and trends in prevention and mental wellness. Key Responsibilities Coalition Stewardship & Community Engagement Lead and facilitate the Hancock County Community Coalition for Mental Wellbeing, ensuring inclusive participation across sectors and lived experience. Support coalition partners in aligning strategies, sharing data, and advancing collaborative initiatives. Support the management of grant funds, including budgeting, compliance, and reporting. Support the development of prevention‑focused grant proposals that reflect community needs and coalition strategies. Communications Development & Management Develop and implement communication strategies that promote mental wellbeing, reduce stigma, and increase awareness of community resources. Produce clear, accessible content for newsletters, social media, websites, presentations, and other outreach channels. Design and develop resource materials such as fact sheets, toolkits, guides, and educational handouts. Serve as the primary point of contact for coalition communications, ensuring consistent messaging and timely information sharing. Promote coalition priorities at community events and activities. Serve as the Board's Public Information Officer and Disaster Coordinator. Substance Use Prevention & Mental Wellbeing Guidance Provide guidance on community needs, trends, and best practices in substance use prevention and mental health promotion. Support partners in interpreting data, identifying gaps, and shaping responsive strategies. Represent the coalition and Board in local, regional, and statewide behavioral health conversations. Professional Development & Training Develop and implement professional development opportunities that strengthen prevention and mental wellbeing competencies across community partners. Maintain awareness of emerging trends and innovations to inform ongoing learning opportunities. Ensure all trainings reflect evidence‑based practices and support community capacity building. Qualifications Experience and/or education in community engagement, coalition building, public health, behavioral health, or related fields. Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist, or a clear plan to obtain the designation. Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate diverse stakeholders, and work collaboratively in complex systems. Commitment to community‑driven, equity‑centered approaches. Work Environment This role is highly collaborative and community‑facing, requiring regular engagement with partners, agencies, and residents. Occasional evening or weekend commitments may be required for community events or coalition activities. Travel may be expected.
Pay:
From $50,000.00 per year
