Description Overview:
The Communications Manager leads Transom's audience engagement and external communications. This role manages newsletters, social media, website, podcast support, and promotional efforts. It ensures Transom's programs, stories, and events reach our audiences, partners, and supporters.
About Transom Story Lab:
Transom Story Lab is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to championing new voices in audio storytelling. Through workshops, public programs, editorial publishing, and the Transom Festival, we train, mentor, and publish a new generation of audio producers. Transom is headquartered in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Our team works remotely, and our Executive Director is based in Vermont. We have offices in Woods Hole and would love to hire staff who are nearby — but new hires can be located anywhere in the

Requirements Required 3+ years of communications, marketing, or audience-development experience Strong writing skills — newsletter, social, web, all in the same warm editorial voice Comfort with email marketing tools (Substack, Mailchimp) and basic analytics Ability to work independently and manage your own time at 20 hrs/wk Basic graphic design (Canva, Figma) for in-house assets Experience with WordPress or modern static-site CMS Preferred Familiarity with audio storytelling, public radio, or podcast production
