In this role, you'll build and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local stakeholders while representing CTDHP at community events, health fairs, trainings, and outreach activities. You'll play a key role in expanding community partnerships, delivering oral health education, connecting members to resources, and supporting statewide health equity initiatives. We're looking for a self-starter who thrives working independently, takes initiative, and enjoys building meaningful relationships. The ideal candidate is culturally competent, comfortable engaging with Connecticut's diverse communities, and passionate about improving health outcomes through collaboration, education, and community engagement. Strong organizational, communication, and public speaking skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and represent CTDHP with professionalism. This is a hybrid position requiring approximately 50% statewide travel, with a minimum of three in-office days per month. Responsibilities Develop and implement community outreach programs tailored to the needs of culturally diverse and underserved populations Build and maintain strong partnerships with local organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and community leaders Lead grassroots organizing efforts to mobilize community members around health, social services, and youth programs Manage volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition to ensure active participation in community initiatives Facilitate public speaking engagements at events, workshops, and meetings to raise awareness about available resources and programs Collect and analyze data related to program participation, community needs, and outreach effectiveness for continuous improvement Oversee social media management and marketing efforts to promote events, campaigns, and organizational updates Coordinate with team members on project management tasks including scheduling, reporting, and administrative duties such as grant writing and fundraising support Provide culturally competent support through bilingual communication skills when engaging with diverse populations Deliver addiction counseling or public health education sessions as needed to support community wellness efforts Key Responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local stakeholders to promote CTDHP programs and services. Conduct community outreach through presentations, trainings, health fairs, meetings, and networking events. Identify and develop new community partnerships using proactive outreach, including cold calling and relationship building. Educate HUSKY Health members, providers, and community partners on oral health, available resources, and CTDHP services. Support medical-dental integration initiatives, including partnerships with OB/GYN practices, WIC, Head Start, and other community organizations. Represent CTDHP at community coalitions, events, and stakeholder meetings. Document outreach activities and maintain accurate records in CRM and reporting systems. Collaborate with internal departments to support statewide initiatives and organizational goals. Assist with special projects, outreach campaigns, and community engagement initiatives as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Passion for community engagement, public health, and advancing health equity. Ability to build relationships and establish trust with diverse communities and partner organizations. Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to effectively engage individuals from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities with minimal supervision. Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Experience with outreach, networking, and community partnership development. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or other data management systems. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout Connecticut.
