Now in its 23rd year (April 8-11, 2027), BIFF has over 25,000 attendances and is known for its award-winning film program and wide community engagement. You'll work alongside a small, fun team that brings the festival to life each year. Position Overview This role manages BIFF's day-to-day digital presence — website, social media, and marketing — working with our Executive Team, Call2Action Team, volunteers, Box Office, our PR firm, and our digital media partner, Vermilion. Compensation is $20,000-$24,000 for the season (depending on experience). This is an in-person role that requires about 10-15 hours a week in late October, November, and December, then goes to 30-40 hours a week January through mid-April. Our office is on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
Responsibilities:
Post, create, and schedule engaging content—including short-form videos, Reels, Stories, and social posts—across Facebook, Instagram, and similar platforms to promote ticket sales and drive audience engagement. Work with Vermilion on paid social campaigns and digital advertising Manage the WordPress site and keep it updated before, during, and after the festival Coordinate and manage the editorial and content calendar Oversee newsletter creation and execution Manage mobile app creation and updates Recruit and oversee a small team of digital media volunteers Track performance metrics Run the press/media office during the festival Coordinate digital branding and messaging with BIFF's PR firm and other partners Keep our PR materials, Wikipedia page, and Google Business profile current Who We're Looking For Someone with advanced, hands-on WordPress skills and solid social media and digital marketing experience. Experience with nonprofit or arts organizations is a plus. You should be able to juggle a few things at once and take ownership of projects. BIFF is ideally looking for someone interested in a long-term relationship with the organization, with a three-year commitment. There are no benefits for this position.
Pay:
$20,000.00 - $24,000.00 per year
