Job Description

As our first full-time Director of Communications & Marketing, you will play a key role in advancing our mission by developing compelling communications strategies, elevating community stories, strengthening donor engagement, and helping build the systems and partnerships that support a thriving community. We value the experience and leadership this role brings, offering a competitive starting salary of $105,000-$115,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage. You'll enjoy 20 days of paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, sick leave, and a retirement plan that features a 10% employer contribution to your 401(k) after six months of employment. Our office-first hybrid work environment, based in beautiful Whatcom County, provides opportunities for collaboration while offering flexibility after six months of employment. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will work across the organization and with external partners to steward our brand, strengthen community relationships, support fundraising and donor engagement efforts, and communicate the impact of our community investments and leadership initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to build a communications function from the ground up. You will bring both strategic vision and hands-on execution, helping translate complex community issues, partnerships, and opportunities into clear, compelling stories that inspire action and deepen understanding.
