With an enrollment of over 1100 students, it features a highly accomplished faculty providing one-to-one instrumental and vocal instruction, chamber music, jazz, world music, music theory and history, composition, adult and youth ensembles and early childhood classes. Director of Marketing and Communications The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for positioning the Conservatory in the public sphere by developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and plans that effectively advance PCM's profile, reputation, and visibility within the San Gabriel Valley community. This is an essential role at
PCM:
the Director is a strategic leader who is mission driven, focused on both priorities and outcomes, while building the strong internal and external relationships essential for the team's success. The Director reports to the Conservatory's Executive Director while working closely with the Director of Development and other members of the senior leadership, as well as members of the faculty and board. The position is also responsible for internal communications, managing an additional marketing team member, and coordinating with external contractors. The position is full-time - 40 hours per week - with the possibility of combining remote work with in-office attendance. Communicate the profile and identity of PCM to effectively Attract and retain students Attract and maintain financial support Strengthen internal constituencies' understanding of the school Position PCM positively in the San Gabriel Valley community Maintain brand consistency across all platforms Act as a spokesperson for PCM Develop and disseminate print and electronic marketing collateral via Website Social Media Channels (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook) E-communications Annual Reports Brochures, flyers, press releases Internal messaging Develop and implement annual plans for Calendar of publications and events Working with faculty, department chairs and coordinators to effectively communicate their programs Assessment of marketing plan and budget Advertising (print, digital, signage, collateral) Monitoring analytics (KPIs) to measure impact and optimize communication strategies Leveraging the knowledge and networks of the marketing committee Board Relations Marketing Committee Risk Management Committee Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field Minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing or communications, non-profit environments preferred Proficient with Word, Excel, design/layout software, social media platforms, video editing and analytics tools Keen knowledge of AP style Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong storytelling ability, creative thinking, and visual communication skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to meet demanding deadlines Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully Strong commitment to teamwork, with a ready ability to work well with colleagues and volunteers Strong track record of high performance and a commitment to excellence in quality Passion for music, music education, and community development How to Apply Interested applicants may submit their resume and cover letter to: .
