Job Description

Editorial & Engagement Specialist Savvee Inc. is seeking a creative Editorial and Engagement Specialist to support our federal client in Silver Spring, MD, in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will support the client by transforming operational updates, leadership priorities, and enterprise initiatives into clear, compelling, and strategically aligned communications. This role serves as a trusted editorial partner, helping identify meaningful stories, shape leadership messaging, and support enterprise engagement initiatives that connect operations to the broader client mission. The position requires exceptional writing and editing skills, strong editorial judgment, organizational awareness, and the ability to work effectively across multiple leadership stakeholders in a dynamic executive environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Drafting, editing, and refining leadership communications, internal messaging, enterprise updates, newsletters, talking points, and organizational announcements.
  • Translating technical, operational, and programmatic information into clear, readable, and engaging content for broad internal audiences.
  • Reviewing operational reports, leadership updates, quad charts, and program materials to identify meaningful themes, accomplishments, and strategic story opportunities.
  • Developing narratives that connect initiatives and operational activities to the broader client mission priorities and organizational goals.
  • Supporting development of recurring internal communications products, including newsletters, leadership messaging, and enterprise engagement content.
  • Synthesizing information from multiple organizations and leadership stakeholders into cohesive, audience-appropriate communications.
  • Coordinating with leadership, program offices, and division stakeholders to gather information, refine messaging, and support communication timelines.
  • Assisting with editorial planning, content prioritization, and communication coordination activities across the organization.
  • Ensuring communications are clear, concise, strategically aligned, and appropriate for internal executive and workforce audiences.
  • Reviewing communications for readability, grammar, formatting consistency, tone, plain language compliance, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Supporting enterprise awareness of organizational initiatives, operational updates, and strategic priorities through effective storytelling and editorial development.
  • Building collaborative relationships across the client's divisions and program offices to support information gathering, communication alignment, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Operating effectively within a dynamic executive environment requiring professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and responsiveness to evolving leadership priorities.
  • Supporting communication integration efforts across multiple leadership perspectives and organizational priorities while maintaining neutrality and collaboration.
  • Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Eight or more years of experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain the client's Public Trust clearance
  • Proven familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and responsible use of AI-assisted tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A highly motivated self-starter
  • Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or related field
  • Five or more years of experience supporting editorial development, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, or related functions
  • Familiarity with federal plain language standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements preferred
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex operational or technical information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging
