Job Description

Overview The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible to oversee and implement all marketing, communications, and fundraising programs of the Society in order to maximize its visibility and revenue among target audiences and achieve ASPAN's Vision. All activities will be managed in a way that is consistent with ASPAN policy. Marketing Responsibilities 1. Annually formulate and implement a marketing plan to identify prospective members and have them join
ASPAN. 2.
Create and fulfill an annual member retention plan to maximize member renewal rates and minimize those who let their membership lapse. Periodically assess the plan for possible improvements. 3. Promote and manage ASPAN's annual Member-Get-A-Member campaign, including notifying all winners and distributing prizes. 4. Conduct an annual PURL marketing campaign for lapsed members to rejoin. 5. Market ASPAN's primary products and services, including membership, education, publications, National Conference, and PANAW in print and electronic formats, including social media, as appropriate. 6. Create, distribute, and periodically update all collaterals for marketing purposes such as the ASPAN Overview Brochure, Membership Application forms, email blasts, letters, ASPAN banner, ASPAN 101 PowerPoint presentation, and related pages on ASPAN website 7. Send ASPAN promotional materials to others upon request (50-100x/year) 8. Assist other staff members, Board Members, and Committees/SWTs in the development of collaterals as needed (e.g., NC syllabus, Webcast/Seminar brochures, Directories, etc.). 9. Conduct marketing analysis of current and future trends relative to membership and program areas of ASPAN and its competition. Fundraising Responsibilities 1. Promote and manage all facets of ASPAN's annual Hail, Honor, Salute! campaign. 2. Create and implement an annual marketing plan for corporate support at ASPAN's annual National Conference, including exhibit space, corporate grants, satellite symposium, and focus groups. 3. Write, edit, design, print, and distribute all promotional/informational materials to industry and ASPAN members regarding National Conference. 4. Negotiate contracts for National Conference as necessary and process with Accounting Manager as they arrive for record keeping. 5. Working with the Resource Development SWT, organize, promote, and manage all member fundraising activities at National Conference. 6. Establish contracts with and manage Conference Decorator, Exhibits Support Specialist, Lead Tracking Specialist, Shipper, and security details regarding their responsibilities involving National Conference. 7. Promote and periodically review ASPAN's Corporate Partnership Program annually to foster corporate support throughout the year. 8. Working with Membership and Marketing SWT and third-party vendor, select theme, create logo, select products, create brochure, webpages, and email blasts to promote PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week (PANAW) and maximize product sales. 9. Promote ASPAN's Legacy for Life program to members via all appropriate channels. 10. Mail thank you letters to individuals and organizations as financial support is received. 11 Working with Accounting Manager, maintain records of all financial support of ASPAN and send annual financial giving statements as requested for tax purposes. 12. Promote and process requests to purchase ASPAN's membership mailing list, as appropriate. 13. Promote ASPAN's affinity programs among members, as appropriate. 14. Solicit funding for other programs as developed by ASPAN. Communication Responsibilities 1. Oversee and write marketing content for the ASPAN website to ensure it is timely, concise, and compelling. 2. Respond to emails and inquiries from members and others as they come in. 3. Write, design, edit, and send email blasts to members and prospective exhibitors to promote ASPAN's National Conference. 4. Write, design, edit, and send email blasts promoting ASPAN's webinars and seminars (50-100/year) 5. Design and send email blasts to ASPAN's Specialty Practice Groups (SPGs) announcing semiannual publication of each SPG newsletter and other information, as appropriate 6. Edit and send email blasts to all members announcing when Breathline is published. 7. Participate in conference calls with the Resource Development and Membership and Marketing SWTs and other groups, as appropriate. 8. Work with JoPAN and Breathline staff to create effective promotional and informational ads for ASPAN as well as other corporate partners. 9. Collect all contact information from National Conference exhibitors for the event app. 10. Invite each person who opts out of receiving ASPAN email blast to rejoin via email and postcard. Other Responsibilities 1. Ensure ASPAN abides by all contracts established with related third party providers and affiliate organizations. 2. Maintain metrics on all marketing, fundraising, and communication programs and provide reports and implement improvements as necessary. 3. Stay within all budgets established by the Board. 4. Oversee all facets of ASPAN's Award for Outstanding Achievement Award program. 5. Obtain three price quotes for shipping and security needs at National Conference and award contracts as determined best for
ASPAN. 6.
Monitor all related revenues and expenditures and create reports as needed. 7. Obtain price quotes and award printing for ASPAN stationery, marketing collaterals, and membership renewal paperwork as needed. 8. Oversee packing and shipping of materials/pallets for National Conference. 9. Attend Board, Committee, and other meetings as requested by CEO. 10. Other duties as assigned by

Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
