Parks & Recreation Finance SME (NJ Government Experience Required)

New Jersey-based candidates only. Do not apply if you do not have direct documented fee study experience at a public park or recreation agency. Our firm is a NJ-based NJSBE, WBENC, WOSB, and MBE-certified women and minority-owned financial consulting firm. We are building our project team for an upcoming public sector consulting engagement with a New Jersey county government agency. This is a planned hire contingent upon contract award, anticipated July 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly with next steps. What you will do Lead fee study methodology and define service cost recovery tiers and pricing rationale framework Conduct equity-based pricing analysis covering youth, senior, non-profit, and resident vs non-resident rate structures Identify, validate, and document benchmark public park agencies for regional and national fee comparisons Author the Cost Recovery Policy document which is the primary deliverable of the engagement Develop recommended fee schedule adjustments with written justification by service category Validate cost allocation model outputs against parks and recreation industry standards Provide named agency references from prior comparable engagements Co-present methodology and recommendations to a county government board and commissioners Required qualifications New Jersey residency | must be NJ-based and available for in-person attendance in northern NJ Minimum 5 years of experience in parks, recreation, or public leisure agency finance, consulting, or administration within a NJ or comparable public agency environment Documented experience personally conducting a comprehensive fee study for a public park or recreation agency | must be able to name the agency, your role, and the outcome Prior experience authoring or substantially contributing to a cost recovery policy formally adopted by a public agency board Experience with equity-based fee structures including youth, senior, and non-profit pricing adjustments in a public agency context Minimum 3 professional references from comparable public park or recreation agency engagements Comfortable presenting to elected officials, appointed board members, and county commissioners Please only apply if you meet all required qualifications above.
