Job Description
This position is for either York or Lemoyne. Referral Specialist Department/s ELRC and Community Engagement FLSA Classification Non-Exempt Reports to Community Engagement Manager Primary Contacts CCC ELRC and Community Engagement staff, United Way staff, Child care providers, families, other community agency representatives Job summary The Referral Specialist works under the general supervision of the Community Engagement Manager to perform child care searches using the PELICAN Child Care Works and COMPASS database, and provides parent consultation for community, corporate, and national vendor clients to provide appropriate referrals to all provider types and OCDEL programs to meet the individual needs of the family. The Referral Specialist maintains and distributes resources to the public based upon interests and needs. The Referral Specialist holds and demonstrates a strong belief in the mission and vision of Community Connections for Children, Inc. and all of its programs. Summary of job responsibilities Provides consultation to parents on child care options, how to evaluate and select child care services, and child development issues Contacts and provides outreach to clients through the new application process Engages with Child Care Works staff to inform families when provider closures occur and assists with providing eligible provider listings to the families Maintains the R&R resources and ensures supply is maintained and area is clean Assist with event preparation and managing inventory of event materials for both offices. Assists with special projects and mailings as assigned Provides coverage and back-up for co-workers Serves as the back-up Receptionist Attends and participates in agency ELRC and Community Engagement staff meetings and appropriate training opportunities Represents Community Connections for Children, Inc. and its programs at community events and assists in gathering materials for these events Promotes and supports the mission, values and goals of Community Connections for Children, Inc. Maintains high performance standards. Core Competencies Ability to operate multi-line phone system, postage machine, fax, copier, printer, and scanner Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and work productively with a diverse population of internal and external clients Ability to effectively and appropriately prioritize among competing demands Ability to independently plan, organize, and complete assigned work correctly and professionally within specified time frames Ability to take initiative and work independently and also be a good team player Excellent organizational skills and the ability to excel at details, multi-task and work under pressure Understanding of confidentiality issues and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all working relationships Demonstrates a commitment to safety and compliance Exhibits sound decision making Proficient in the use of MSOffice Products, especially
WORD and EXCEL Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Conducts computerized child care searches using the PELICAN and COMPASS child care database in accordance with contractual agreements Follows up with clients via telephone or email regarding referral services and maintain customer satisfaction data through internal and PELICAN follow-up systems Maintains provider information for referrals in PELICAN database by processing provider surveys and provider phone call updates Ability to interact courteously, effectively and efficiently with clients, providers and community members who conduct business at CCC Ability to utilize a multiline phone system with a large volume of calls while providing courteous and efficient service Ethical, trustworthy and confidential with sensitive information for clients, providers and the agency Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing Ability to input, access, manipulate, and retrieve information from a computer, use a telephone and mobile phone Ability to travel independently, with a reliable form of transportation, throughout York County Normal physical demands associated with work in an office environment, including lifting, bending, and carrying Additional tasks as assigned when needed Minimum requirements High school Diploma or GED required Previous experience in a child care setting preferred Degree in Human Services or ECE strongly preferred Previous experience in a social service agency preferred Bilingual preferred Work scheduleRotation Schedule:
Weeks 1, 2, 3- 8-hour shift Mon.
- Fri., hours as assigned, ½ hour lunch break Week 4
- 7.5-hour shift Mon.
- Thurs.
Pay:
$20.00- $21.
